Ivan Czernow

Ivan Czernow , 80, of Lynnfield died on Tuesday, September 17 in Woburn.

Born in the Ukraine on September 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Alfanas and Stefania Czernow .

He immigrated from the Ukraine to Brazil in 1947, and then to the United States in 1963. Mr. Czernow had been a Lynnfield resident for the past 17 years. He was a retired Stonemason, who worked on many buildings in Boston and surrounding towns.

Mr. Czernow was fluid in four languages, including English, Ukrainian, Russian, and Portuguese. Mr. Czernow was also an avid chess player.

He was the husband of the late Angela (Makedon) Czernow . Mr. Czernow was the brother of Warwara Gerasimow of East Longmeadow and the late Jurij Czernow and Anna Tomaszczuk. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He would do anything for them, and they would do anything for him. He will be missed.

A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
