Jack Proodian , 83 died Saturday April 5, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Detroit, Michigan January 14, 1931 he was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Solakian) Proodian .
Jack was a long time resident of Stoneham. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He also served for a time as the Commander of the VFW Post in Stoneham. Jack was an avid golfer and was a member of the Meadowbrook Golf Club in Reading for many years. He owned and operated L.J. Proodian Associates, Inc., of Stoneham from 1970 until his retirement in 1995. He remained active in the day to day operations of the company until early March of 2014.
Jack is survived by his wife of 35 years Ellen (Lane) Proodian . - He was the brother-in-law of Marie Proodian of Stoneham, Nancy Proodian of California, James Lane and his wife Donna of Lowell, and Madeline Belski of Somerville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers; Edward Proodian Jr. and George Proodian .
A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Tuesday, April 8, from 3-7pm.
