Jacqueline (Jackie) L. Bates passed away peacefully October 3, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Jackie was born on August 16, 1954, in Arlington Massachusetts, the third of four children of Stanley W. and Marjory L. (Cleveland) Bates.
Jackie graduated from Concord Carlisle High School and entered the work force settling in initially at General Microfilm in Cambridge, then at Accufile of Lexington, where she worked for several years, traveling to New England business, colleges and law firms capturing their documents on microfiche. She then took a position at Ruberto, Israel & Weiner of Boston as records manager for nearly 20 years until her retirement in August of 2020.
Jackie enjoyed spending much of her adult years as a member of the Liberty Belle, Sweet Adeline Chorus in Arlington enjoying competing with other regional chapters and attending their national conventions. After retirement Jackie found new friends volunteering at Gloucester’s Open Door food pantry.
Jackie was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, often taking last minute trips by train to Fenway to “catch a game”. Jackie also enjoyed attending plays at the North Shore Music Theater where she had an annual seasonal membership.
Jackie was predeceased by her parents as well as her sister Stephanie and leaves behind her sister Pricilla M. Parisi and her husband Charles Parisi Jr, their daughter Brenda Wood and her husband Jake and their daughters Ella and Lilly, her brother James C. Bates and his wife Susan and their sons Andrew W. and Daniel W. and his wife Rebecca.
She also leaves her beloved friends Diane Strzesak and Deb Lamoureux with whom she looked forward to spending time with, either at the beach, visiting Deb at her home or conferencing on the phone with Diane to commiserate pitching selections.
