James F. Bettincourt, 64, of Newton, New Hampshire formerly of Wakefield died on Sunday, September 4, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
Born in Cambridge on February 12, 1947 he was the son of the late John E. and Margaret (Murphy) Bettincourt.
James was a graduate of Somerville High School Class of 1965. He was the owner and operator of LDB Enterprise Trucking Company. He was a member of the Saugus and Everett Elks. James had been a Newton New Hampshire resident for the past five years and a Wakefield resident for 14 years prior to that. He served in the Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife Linda D. (Schuyler) Bettincourt and his two daughters Karen Bettincourt of Newton, NH and Kimberly Bettincourt of Nantucket. James was predeceased by his brother John Bettincourt.
A Funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 11 a.m. A visitation period will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
