James F. McHale, 69 of Stoneham and formerly of Medford died Thursday, April 23, in Cambridge. He was born in Medford on February 9, 1946 and was the beloved son of the late James and Catherine (Horgan) McHale. Mr. McHale was raised in Medford and was a graduate of St. Clement High School of Somerville. He was employed as an information technology specialist and retired from the former NYNEX Corporation after 30 years of service. He had also been a Stoneham resident for more than 35 years and was a member of St. Patrick Church. He was an avid reader, lover of music and especially enjoyed vacationing in both Florida and Maine.
Mr. McHale was the cherished husband of Geraldine (Twohig) McHale. He was the brother-in-law of Dennis and Marie Duggan of Wakefield and William and Lorraine McCarran of Stoneham. He was the Uncle of Kevin Duggan, Patrice Kwet, Janine and Robert Gauvin, Kathleen and Steven Kennedy, Christine and Erin McCarran. He was the Grand Uncle of Julia, Conor, Timothy, Jeremiah, Brendan, Nora and Nolan. He is also survived by many cousins both here and in Ireland.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham, Tuesday, at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10:00. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Monday 4 to 8pm
