James M. Molloy

James M. Molloy, age 65, of Methuen passed away peacefully on April 10 surrounded by his family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Jim was born in Lowell on June 10, 1959 and was the son of Mary (Nagle) Lloyd and the late John Molloy. He was also the beloved son-in- law of the late Vartkis and Dorothy Parsikian.

Jim was raised in Lowell before moving to Dracut, graduating from Dracut High School in 1977. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for three years before being honorably discharged in 1980. He later went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from UMass Lowell in 2002. He was most recently employed at Danaher Corporation as an automation engineer where he enjoyed his career, personal and professional friendships.

Jim lived a life filled with love, humor, hard work and unwavering commitment to his wife, family, faith and community. He was a problem solver with a can-do approach. Loyal and generous, he was most happy in life when helping others.

Uncle Jimmy, playfully known as “U.J.” had a love of all things outdoors including hiking, fishing, skiing, and rock climbing. In addition, he loved vacationing with his family and taking his great nieces and nephew for weekends packed with fun and adventure. Jim’s abundance of talents and creativity had no limits. He was always enthusiastic about a new project and was most happy sharing his talents and doing for others. Most recently Jim could be found having fun in his new community on the pickle ball court and socializing with friends.

Jim was the beloved husband of Denise (Parsikian) Molloy, with whom he shared 22 wonderful years of marriage. He was the brother of Patricia Molloy, Joann Morrison and the late John Molloy. He was the cherished brother-in-law of Joanne Tashjian and her husband Greg. He was the adoring uncle of Christopher Tashjian and his wife Kim, Joy Bethune and her husband Michael and Noel Talanian and her husband Christopher. “U.J.” was the treasured great uncle of Talia, Zack, Mya, Morgan, Celina, Mila, Charlie, and Chloe. He is also survived by Rebekka, Jamie, Kelly, and Daniel, as well as several cousins and dear friends.
