James D. O'Leary, 84, of Wakefield, died on Wednesday, May 13 at the Winchester Hospital.
Born in Everett on May 26, 1929 he was the son of the late Charles A. and Nora (Burke) O'Leary.
James was a graduate of St. Clements High School in Somerville class of 1948, and Boston College class of 1952. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been a Wakefield resident for the past 54 years. James was a retired Teamster for Local 25, where he was a Truck Driver, retiring in 1992.
James is survived by his wife, Margaret L. (Cummiskey) O'Leary, his 5 children; Judy Santamaria and husband John of Wakefield, James O'Leary and wife Joan of Groveland, Susan Contos and husband Charles of Amherst, NH, Paula Warner and husband Ross of Rye, NH, and Kevin O'Leary and wife Amy of Hatboro, PA., and his sister Mary O'Leary of Reading. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren; John, Jill, Julie, Meghan, Kevin, Chuck, Sara, Nick, Michelle, Grace, and Maura, and a great granddaughter, Olive. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers; Charles and Paul O'Leary, and his sister Frances Treinavicz
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday at 8:30a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, at 9:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
