James O'Sullivan

James J. O'Sullivan, 80, of Wakefield formerly of Lynn and Lynnfield, died Sunday, September 4 at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury.

Born in Cambridge on January 16, 1931, he was the son of the late James F. and Mary F. (Burns) O'Sullivan.

Mr. O'Sullivan was raised and educated in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School. He retired in 1991 from the Lynn Post Office as a Clerk and had also worked at the Woburn and North Reading Post Office. Mr. O'Sullivan was a Korean War Army Veteran who had received the Purple Heart Medal and three Bronze Star Medal He was a former member of the Elks.

Mr. O'Sullivan was the husband of the late Barbara (Tallon) O'Sullivan. He is survived by his son Michael O'Sullivan of Wakefield, his two daughters; Maureen O'Sullivan of Wakefield and Diane Ramos of CA and his two sisters; Teresa Nash of Newton and Eileen Casey of Middleboro. Mr. O'Sullivan is also survived by his two grandsons and many neices and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Charles J. "Buddy" O'Sullivan and his two sisters; Florence Fox and Mary O'Sullivan.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield, on Saturday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave, at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at St. Jean de Baptiste Cemetery in Lynn.
