James L. Patch, Jr. of Wakefield died Friday December 31 after a long period of failing health. He was 54 years of age. Born in Melrose on August 3, 1956 the son of Joyce A. (Porter) Patch of Wakefield and the late James L. Patch. Mr. Patch was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School in 1975. He worked for many years in the Oil sales industry as an oil burner technician and was a member and past treasurer of the North East Chapter of Oil Heat Service Managers. He was also a member of the West Side Social Club of Wakefield.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his brother Dana Patch & his companion Linda Coviello of Billerica. His three sisters, Christine Patch-Lindsay of CA, Sheila J. Nurse & her husband Robert of ME, and June E. Gregory & her husband Bruce of Wakefield. He was also the uncle of Rebecca (Nurse) Lewis and Sean, Matthew and Daniel Nurse.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Wednesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave. Wakefield at 10:00. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery.
