James Wersackas, 68 of Lynnfield, died at the NSMC – Lynn Hospital on Sunday June 12.
Born in Saugus, May 2, 1943 he was the son of the late John and Anna (Dysko) Wersackas.
Mr. Wersackas was a graduate of Saugus High School Class of 1961. He had been a resident of Lynnfield for over 27 years. He was the former owner of Weinstein & Weinstein Plumbing of Swampscott, a business that his son Jim is now operating. Mr. Wersackas loved to collect and restore classic cars as a hobby.
Mr. Wersackas was the husband of Cheryl (Gropp) Wersackas. He was the father of Marybeth McInnis of Brazil, IN, John M. Wersackas of Detroit, MI, James D. Wersackas Jr. and his wife Patricia of Lynnfield and Jennifer Dignan and her husband Sean of Nahant. James was the grandfather of James "JD" III, Nathan, Julia, Jared, Jason, Ryan, Molly, Annamarie, Daniel, Grace, and Jonathan Wersackas. He was the brother of the late Florence Stazinski, Monica Wersackas, Loraine Panuzio, and John Wersackas.
A Funeral service will be held in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield on Wednesday at 11 a.m. A visitation period for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970
