Jane S. Cox of Lynnfield and formerly of Dorchester died Saturday September 27 after a lengthy illness. She was 51 years of age. Born in Boston on June 16, 1957 she was the daughter of Eileen (Moran) Souza of Dorchester and the late John P. Souza. Jane was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester's M.R.M. Academy and Mass Bay Community College in Wellesley. She had been employed as a Court Stenographer by Mahaney Court Reporting Service of Boston. She was active in the community of Lynnfield and was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Bethlehem School, volunteer of the Huckleberry Hill elementary school and also an avid supporter of her children's sports activities.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband Robert A. Cox. Her son Brendan R. Cox and daughter Kelly E. Cox all of Lynnfield. She was the sister of John Souza & his wife Diane of OH. Paul Souza & wife Rosemary and Joseph Souza & wife Jane all of Braintree. Virginia Dunbar & husband Joseph of Beverly and Rosemary Souza of Dorchester & Elizabeth Souza of Billerica. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held in the Trinity Evangelical Church 105 Haverhill St. No. Reading Tuesday at 11:00. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Monday 4-8 PM.
