Janet Colozzi

Janet M. Colozzi, a Wakefield resident since 1973, died on Friday, January 24 at the Brigham & Women Hospital in Boston.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island she was the daughter of the late Dr. Jeremiah F. and Jessie I. (Batherson) Crowley.

Mrs. Colozzi was a graduate of St. Mary Academy- Bay View High School in Rhode Island. She went on to obtain her Bachelor's of Science degree in the field of Nursing from the University of Rhode Island. Mrs. Colozzi was the RN for the Lynnfield Elementary Schools and retired in 2007 after 27 years. She previously worked as an RN for the Brigham & Women Hospital in Boston for 10 years where she was Head Nurse for the Medical/Surgical Unit.

Mrs. Colozzi is survived by her husband of 44 years Anthony Colozzi, her daughter Kerry Wollner and her husband Greg of Wakefield, her two grandsons (whom she adored and spoiled); Ryan and John Wollner, her two brothers; Jeremiah Crowley, and his wife Nancy and John Crowley and his wife Angela all of Connecticut. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and supportive friends.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave Wakefield on Friday at 9:00am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 - 8 PM. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
