Janet Corkern

Janet L. Corkern, 57, of Saugus formerly of Wakefield die on Thursday, March 27 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Melrose on November 14, 1956 she was the daughter of Doris (Beatty) La Spina of Wakefield and the late William La Spina.

Mrs. Corkern was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1973 and Regis College in Weston. She had worked for The Analytical Science Corp (TASC) in Reading. Mrs. Corkern was a member of St. Florence Parish in Wakefield.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Corkern was the wife of Glenn R. Corkern, mother to son Matthew J. Corkern of Saugus and daughter Jill K. Corkern of Lynn and sister to Patricia Krol of Wakefield and Doris Conway of Ipswich and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm.
