Janis Shine

Janis M. Shine, of Wakefield, died suddenly, Saturday, February 24 at her residence.

Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Nancy (Cogan) McDonough.

Janis was raised in Winchester and was a graduate of Winchester High School. She had been a longtime employee of the United States Postal Service. She had been a longtime Wakefield resident, having lived in town for more than 30 years. She was a summer resident of Frye Island, ME, which was her favorite spot. Janis also loved spending her winter vacations in Disney World.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph M. Shine; her loving son, Connor J. Shine; and her cherished sister, Lisa Bardacino.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Funeral Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
