Jean A. DeVincent, of Peabody and a former longtime resident of Melrose died Saturday, July 23 in Peabody at 82 years of age.
She was raised in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School. She raised her family in Melrose and was a member of the Church of the Incarnation while there. She was retired from the Law Offices of Harold Brown, Esq. of Boston where she worked many years as office manager. Above all things, Jean loved nothing more than spending time with her friends and family. She loved to cook for everyone, whether for holidays or a Sunday dinner, her Italian cooking, her outgoing personality, and her unmatched sense of humor were always the center of family gatherings. Jean also loved a good trip to the casino with her girlfriends and her grandson, always finding her way to the blackjack table.
Mrs. DeVincent was the beloved wife of the late George R. DeVincent. She was the loving mother of Richard J. DeVincent and his wife Julie of Dallas, TX and Robin Citrano and her husband John of Wakefield. She was the sister of Mary Buitenhuys and her late husband Bill. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Marisa, Olivia, Jake, Alexandria, Harley and Samantha.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Avenue Wakefield on Wednesday July 27 beginning at 9am and will be followed a Funeral Mass in Saint Joseph Church 173 Albion Street Wakefield at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jean's name to, The Alzheimer's Association, 229 No. Michigan Avenue, Flr. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
