Jean Funk

Jean C . Funk , 101, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died on Saturday, October 26 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center.

Born in Wakefield on December 12, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Philomenia (Krezicka) Yazinka.

Mrs. Funk was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1935. She worked as a secretary for the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield and was also a member of the Women's Guild at the church.

Mrs. Funk was the wife of the late Albert F. Funk . She is survived by her two sons; Paul A. Funk and his late wife Marie of W. Harwich and Charles R. Funk and his wife Maureen of Wakefield and her two daughters; Cheryl A. Farrell and her husband James and Linda J. Moses and her husband Robert both of Wakefield. Mrs. Funk is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and her 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her four sisters; Helen Delano, Fanny Perry, Sophie Crocker and Henrietta Geoghegan and her two brothers; Frank Yazinka and Henry Yazinka.

Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10am. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7pm.
