Jean C. (Brown) Kaper died on Friday November 7th surrounded by her family after struggling with ALS.
Jean was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1955. She went on to receive her nursing diploma from Chelsea Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1958. Jean was a devoted OR nurse and IV Therapist for 32 years at the Winchester Hospital before retiring in 1999. Jean's love of animals led her to volunteer at the Northeast Animal Shelter in Methuen. For the past 2 years, Jean worked for IV Infusion Services out of North Andover as a Home IV Specialist. Jean was a devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Jerome J. Kaper Sr. Loving mother of Maureen A. Vedope and husband Alan of Lynnfield, Kathleen Mauriot and husband Frederic of Wakefield, Jerome J. Kaper Jr., and husband Christopher Casale of Melrose, and the late Michael F. Kaper. Also survived by her 2 grandchildren, Juliette M. and Connor P. Mauriot.
Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, corner of Salem and Grove St., Lynnfield at 11o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 pm. Interment, Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ALS Foundation or Northeast Animal Shelter.
We would like to thank all of the staff of Aberjona Nursing Home and Compassionate Care Hospice who took great care of our mother. You went above and beyond what was needed or expected and we will be forever grateful.
