Jean Serrecchia , 88, of Danvers formerly of Wakefield, died on Wednesday December 9 at the Woodbriar of Wilmington.

Born in Boston on August 29, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Ruggiero) Bionelli.

Mrs. Serrecchia was raised in Boston and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. Before her retirement she had worked as a Cafeteria Manager at both the Wakefield High School and the Wakefield Junior High School.

Mrs. Serrecchia had been a Wakefield resident from 1968 to 1993 and a Danvers resident from 1993 to present. She was also a member of St. Joseph parish in Wakefield.

Mrs. Serrecchia was the wife of the late Angelo Serrecchia . She was the mother of Evelyn Robishaw of Stoneham, Joseph Serrecchia and his wife Maureen of Byfield and Denise Serrecchia and her spouse Deanne Colwell of Wakefield and sister of Lena Cortese of Stoneham and the late Frances Petrucelli. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
