Jean Sorensen

Jean E . Sorensen , 52, of Wakefield died on Saturday, March 8 at her residence.

Born in El Paso, Texas on May 5, 1961 she was the daughter of George Sorensen of Sahuarita, Arizona and the late Edna (Montes) Sorensen .

Jean was raised in El Paso, Texas. She was a graduate of Loretto Academy, Class of 1979, Harvard University, Class of 2007 and had earned her Master's Degree from Harvard University in 2011. Jean had been a Wakefield resident since 1995. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield. She was very active in the community and served on the Tech Board of the Wakefield School Committee. Jean was the Director of Committed Living University in Quincy.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband Sean Sorensen and her two sons; Deckard Sorensen of Boston and Warren Sorensen of Wakefield.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Friday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Big Brothers Big Sisters, 75 Federal St., 8th floor, Boston, MA 02110.
