Jeanne Jefferson

Jeanne Jefferson, 88 of Wakefield died Sunday September 16 in Boston. Born in Wakefield on December 11, 1923 the daughter of the late J. Edward & Mary E. (McManus) Surette. Mrs. Jefferson was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and also attended Burdette College. She was retired form the Town of Wakefield, Assessors office. She was also a life long member of St. Joseph Church.

Mrs. Jefferson was the wife of the late William E. Jefferson. She was the mother of Nancy J. Jefferson of Braintree, William E. Jefferson of Wakefield, Mary T. Murray of Burlington and Kathleen A. Cronin of Wakefield. She was the grandmother of MaryEllen and Michael Murray, Jr., Valerie McCarthy and Zachary Menhard. She was the great grandmother of Evan & Lauren McCarthy and Hannah & Brooke Murray. She is predeceased by her siblings J. Edward, Robert & Francis Surette, Ruth Benton, Dorothy Finnie, Lorraine Coombs and Claire Collier.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Friday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10:00. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friend will be held at the funeral home Thursday 3-7pm.
