Jeanne DePinho Paula, age 77, of Kettering, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 16, 2024. She was born in Boston on April 10, 1947 and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (DePinho) Paula.
Jeanne was born in Boston. She moved to Portugal at a young age and lived there for many years. She studied at the University of Coimbra where she received her teaching degree. Jeanne taught English and Portuguese.
Jeanne became a Secular Carmelite in 2003. She was a member of the Our Mother of Good Council community in Beavercreek, Ohio for many years and was dearly loved by her fellow Carmelites. Jeanne’s name in religion was Jeanne of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Jeanne was Executive Administrative Assistant at MCEP Medical Center at Elizabeth Place and she was a credentialing specialist at Kettering hospital before retiring to care for her beloved mother. Jeanne’s hobbies included reading, cooking and playing cards.
She was the sister of Donald Scalfani and his wife Donna of West Peabody, Deborah A. Scalfani of Hollis, NH, Matthew Scalfani of Wakefield, Gary Scalfani and wife Elaine of Wakefield, Mindy Paula Pinto and her husband Anthony of Ohio, Lisa Paula-McGinley and husband Tom McGinley of Beverly, and Manny Paula of Ohio. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne is survived by many dear friends including her closest friends Joyce and Alan Kasprzak.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Tuesday, October 29 at 10AM. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
