Jeffrey Reinert

Jeffrey S. Reinert, 68 of Salem, died Monday, October 20 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose.

Born in Elgin, IL, on July 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Richard J. Sr. and Coral C. (Stanford) Reinert.


Mr. Reinert had been a resident of Salem for the past 20 years. He was a graduate of Elgin High School, Class of 1958, Dartmouth College, Class of 1962 and Yale University, Class of 1965. Mr. Reinert was a self employed attorney and management consultant. He was a member of the Zeta Psi Epsilon fraternity at Dartmouth College and was also a National Merit Scholar.

Mr. Reinert was an avid reader, especially science fiction and philosophy. He also loved music.

Mr. Reinert was the father of Jennifer Reinert of Manhattan, New York and Amelia Reinert of Francestown, New Hampshire. He was the brother of Ann Petraitis and her husband Paul of IL, Richard Reinert and his wife Doral of IL, David Reinert and his wife Barbara of AZ, Mary Wardlow and her husband Brett of IL, Jane Eaton of IL, Philip Reinert of WI and the late Thomas Reinert. Mr. Reinert is also survived by 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Friday at 1 PM. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 11 AM.
