Jennifer R. Curley, age 43 of Salem, MA and formerly of Melrose and North Reading died August 31 in Salem. She was born in Hinesville, GA on June 6,1978 and was the daughter of Karen A. (Sheppard) Sweetland of North Reading and the late Keith J. Curley. Although her time in Georgia was very short, Jen always considered herself a "Georgia Peach." Jen was raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1997 and from the Salem State College, School of Nursing in 2002. She had worked at the Winchester Hospital.
She fell in love with horses after taking riding lessons as a young girl and loved all things Unicorn, even before it was cool. Jen could always fill a room with her unmistakable laugh and her voice was truly one of a kind. She treasured her Cabbage Patch Kid collection and was always down for a nostalgic 80's movie or 80's music dance party.
Jen's true love was her family. She counted her sister as her best friend in the entire world and they often joked about dancing with each other to "Mad About You" at their weddings. She always loved a good family party and loved her cousins like brothers and sisters. She considered her aunts as 2nd mothers.
Her children were her greatest achievements and the lights of her life.
Jen struggled immensely after the death of father and never got over his loss. We find comfort in knowing she is now at peace and finally with her Dad again.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her two sons, Robert J. "RJ" Antonucci and John "Jack" Prince and her sister Jessica R. Donaldson and husband Jared of Wakefield. She was the granddaughter of Lorraine (McWhinnie) Sheppard of Stoneham and the late Bertram Sheppard. She was also the aunt of Jordan and Sydney Donaldson. She leaves behind countless friends, loving aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her father Keith, she is predeceased by her grandparents John and Beverly Curley (Armstrong), her great Grammy Mabel (McWhinnie), her beloved Papa, Bertram Sheppard, and her stepfather Brian Sweetland.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield on Wednesday September 8th at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield on Tuesday September 7th from 4-8pm.
