Joan Anderson

Joan M. Anderson, 70, of Melrose, died Tuesday, September 28 at Epoch Senior Health Care of Melrose.

Born in Wakefield on February 6, 1940 she was the daughter of the late John R. and Beatrice (Meuse) DeVeau.

Mrs. Anderson was raised and educated in Wakefield. She had been a Melrose resident since 1960. Mrs. Anderson had worked at L.B. Evans in Wakefield, Transitron in Wakefield, Analogic in Peabody and was a cashier at Johnny's Foodmaster in Melrose.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband John V. Anderson, her three children; Victor J. Anderson of Saugus, Philip Millner of Lynn and Susan Anderson of Melrose. She was the sister of Gerald DeVeau of Wakefield, Kay Whittington and her husband Howard of Fort Washington, MD, Lorraine Weaver of Fredrick, MD, Pearl Sienkwicz and her husband Joseph of Beaver Falls, NY and the late Arthur DeVeau, Robert DeVeau, Mildred Toth and Sandra DeVeau.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Friday at 10:30am followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave, Wakefield at 11:30. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8pm.
Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.

Memorial contribution may be made to the McCarthy Senior Center, 30 Converse St, Wakefield, MA 01880.
