Joan Cardile

Joan M. Cardile, 66, of Wakefield died Thursday, March 10. Joan was born in Malden, MA on September 9, 1949 and was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph F. and Frances J. (Zaya) Cardile. She was a lifelong Wakefield resident and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Salem State College. She had taught Shakespearean English at Boston College and had worked as a Technology Specialist for the Stop & Shop, Company where she worked for 41 years. She was also a member of St. Florence Church.

She is survived by her partner Cindy and her sister Lillian Mauriello and husband Ronald. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 11am. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
