Joan Elizabeth (Lee) Coscia, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died peacefully on November 6 after a brief illness.
Joan was born and raised in Chelsea MA as the youngest of nine children of Walter and Florence (Dunn) Lee.
Joan loved most being with her family, cooking Italian dinners, watching the Red Sox, Patriots, and Notre Dame games, listening to music, enjoying fresh flowers, and being happy. She also liked to travel throughout the United States and Europe and especially enjoyed her trips to Ireland and Italy.
Joan was proud her children's accomplishments. Caroline is a lecturer at UMass Boston, Michael is involved in film production, Joe Jr. is the worldwide quality control manager for Symmetry and Colleen provides physical therapy home care. She always enjoyed watching Christa play softball for WPI and Nick play Lacrosse.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph for 54 years, mother of Caroline of Wakefield, Michael of Los Angeles, CA and Joseph and Colleen of Lakeville, and devoted Nana to Christa and Nicholas. She was the sister of Mary Allen, Virginia Muise and husband Leo of Tewksbury, and Robert E. Lee of FL, and the late Frank Lee, Walter Lee, Catherine Lee, Doris Maher and Rosella Sydlowski. She was aunt to many nieces and nephews
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church 173 Albion St, Wakefield on Tuesday at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday from 9:00AM to 10:30AM. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
