Joan Ruelle

Joan "Joni" Ruelle, nee Canty, age 78, of Malden peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021, surrounded by family.

Joni was born and raised in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea High School (Class of 1960). She retired from Delta Dental where she worked in customer service.

Joni was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Ernest "Junie" Ruelle, Jr. She was the loving mother of Michael and Michelle Ruelle, Nancy Ryan, Kathleen Edison, Beth-Ann Ryan and John Ryan.

Joni is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Isabelle Rey Hays and 10 grandchildren: Amanda Arguello and Kelly Dawson, Robert and James Valiante, Melyssa Hays and Adara Ryan, Katryna, Ashley and LCpl Christopher Daurie. She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kimberly Ryan Valiante.
Joni was the sister of the late Ronald and his late wife Dorothy Canty, Rita Correia and her husband Peter and Nancy Rosa and her late husband Thomas.
She will also be forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

In keeping with Joni's wishes she will be cremated, and services will be privately held.
