, 56, of Melrose, formerly of Wakefield, died on Thursday, February 11 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Melrose on April 7, 1953 he was the son of the late Herbert N. and Virginia

Mr.
Monson
was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1970. He was also a graduate of Bentley College in Waltham. Mr.
Monson
had worked at the The Savings Bank in Wakefield.
Mr.
Monson
enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed his dogs and worked to support the homeless.
Mr.
Monson
was the brother of Robert
Monson
and his wife Deborah of Concord, NH and the late Richard
Monson
. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles including his Aunt, Jean Mooney of Wakefield, Several nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.
A
committal service will take place at the Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham on Friday at noon followed by a memorial service at the Golden Living Center, 40 Martin St., Melrose at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Memorial contributions may be made to the MSPCA – Angell Headquarters, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield.
