John Berriola

John B . Berriola , of Medford, died Saturday, November 23 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Naples, Italy on Jul 31, 1926 he was the son of the late Oreste and Maddalena (Pittaluga) Berriola .

Mr. Berriola was born and raised in Naples, Italy and moved to the United States at the age of 28 with his young family in tow. He raised his family in Medford and worked in food catering throughout his life. He loved to dance and was a member of the Irish American Club. Mr. Berriola was devoted to his family and a loving grandparent.

He was the father of Maddalena "Lena" Berriola of Stoneham, Oreste "Rusty" Berriola and his late wife Marina of Medford, Paola "Paula" Scannelli and her husband Anthony of North Reading, and Patricia "Trish" Quinn and husband Chris of Stoneham. He was the brother of the late Anna Viola and Clara Cigliano. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his former wife Nina (Percope) Berriola .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Wednesday at 10am. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
