John Didio, Jr., of Lynnfield died on Saturday, July 16 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Lynn on April 8, 1954, he was the son Jacqueline H. (Williams) Didio of Lynnfield and the late John Didio.
John had attended Lynnfield public schools before transferring to St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers. After graduating St. John's, he attended the University of New Hampshire continuing education and Salem State College. In the early 1970's, John was hired by his longtime friend Freddy Cicerchia as a sales representative for N.P. Beverage Company in Lawrence, beginning a 40 year career in the liquor, wine, and malt industry. He later moved on to work for Milton and James Abramson at Capitol Distributing Company in Andover. In the year 2000 Capital Distributing was purchased by Horizon Beverage Company in Avon where he spent the last 14 years of his career working for the Epstein and Rubenstein families.
John was a member of the Salem Country Club for 40 years. During his time, he served on two boards where he held positions of Vice President, Planning Chairman and Green Chair. John spent his summers at Salem Country Club playing competitive golf matches with friends, traveling to Woodstock, Vermont with his daughter and on Lake Winnipesaukee with the Eddy family. He enjoyed his winters in North Conway at Mt. Cranmore.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by his daughter Alicia Rose Didio of Ipswich, his brother Kenneth Burnham of Lynnfield, his sister Marisa Didio of Dover, New Hampshire and his nephew Jon Burnham.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held in the Chapel of St. John's Preparatory School, Administration Building, 72 Springs St., Danvers on Wednesday from 4-8pm. A Graveside Service will be held at the Highland Cemetery in Ipswich on Thursday at 12pm.
