John F. "Dubba" Doyle, 84, of Stoneham died Monday, September 15, at the Life Care Center of Stoneham.
Born in Stoneham on April 23, 1930 he was the son of the late George A. and Margaret (Maloney) Doyle.
Mr. Doyle was a graduate of St. Patrick High School, Class of 1947. He was a lifelong Stoneham resident and was the former owner of Doyle's Dry Cleaning. He had worked as a realtor for Brown Realtors and was the Assistant Assessor for the Town of Stoneham for 17 years before retiring in 1998. Mr. Doyle was an avid golfer at Unicorn Golf Course in Stoneham and Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland. He loved all sports including hockey, baseball and football.
Mr. Doyle was the beloved husband of Marjorie J. (Ross) Doyle, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Janet Gard and her husband Stephen of York, ME and Maureen McDonald and her husband Marty of Andover. He was the brother of George A. Doyle, Jr. of Malden and the late Mary Doyle. He was the loving grandfather of Brian Gard and his wife Brinna, Lauren Gard, and Emma McDonald.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Saturday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
