, 85, of Lynnfield and Falmouth, died on Monday, July 26 at The McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, Mass. after a 10-year noble fight against colon and prostate cancer.

, his wife of nearly 60 years and their seven daughters: Susan Viator of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Colleen and her husband Dr. Harvey Boyarsky of Foster City, Calif.; Elizabeth and her husband Dr. Ahmed Ghoniem of Winchester, Mass.; Anne and her husband Scott Healy of Sudbury, Mass.; Tricia and her husband Harrison Whitehead of Franklin, Tenn.; Atty. Ellen
Brodbine
of San Francisco; and Mary Beth
Brodbine
and her partner Alec Hitchcock of San Francisco.
Seven grandchildren are also the legacy of Atty. Brodbine: Erin and Keith Boyarsky; Brittany and Ryan Healy; and Grace, Charles and Lindsay Whitehead. He also leaves behind his two sisters Emily Cook and Maureen Griffin; a step-brother Tom Kehoe and his wife Betty; nieces, nephews and many close friends and colleagues.

was born on June 3, 1925 in Aherla in County Cork, Ireland, he was the son of the late Nellie (Foley)

, Sr. At two years old, he came to America, his family settling in Lynn, Mass., where he spent his childhood and graduated from Lynn English High School in 1942.
A 1951 graduate of Boston College School of Law, Atty.
Brodbine
enjoyed a 60-year legal career, first as counsel for Electric Mutual and later opening his own law office and becoming partner and owner of Gorman, Voss,
Brodbine
and Gorman. He moved the firm from Boston to Wakefield in the late 90s and retired only months before his passing. Among his many charitable, religious and social associations, Atty.
Brodbine
is a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
Atty.
Brodbine
is a veteran of World War II, serving honorably in the Army as a machine gunner for the 70th Armored Infantry Battalion in the 20th Armored Division. His battalion was among the troops that liberated Dachau, Germany.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield. Visitation will be Thursday, July 29 at 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield with grave-side services following at Forrest Hill Cemetery.
