John Fairburn

John Fairburn

John J . Fairburn , 84, of Haverhill and formerly of Andover died Saturday June 23. Born in Lawrence on October 6, 1927 he was the son of the late John W. and Agatha (Hines) Fairburn . Mr. Fairburn was a retired Plant Operator for the Town of Andover, Department of Public Works . He was raised in both Lawrence and Andover and had attended Andover Schools. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and had been a Navy veteran and served during W.W. II.

Mr. Fairburn was the husband of the late Mildred (Richards). He was the father of John R. Fairburn and his wife JoAnn of Colchester, CT, Jane Boyd and her partner Jerry Marchant of Sandown, NH and Cindy Boyle and her husband Larry of Stafford Springs, CT. He was the brother of Richard Fairburn of ME, Eileen Blanchette of Charlotte, NC and the late William Fairburn . He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

His funeral will be held from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex St. Andover at 10 o'clock. Interment will be at St. Augustine Cemetery in Andover. Visitation will be held at the Pollard Funeral Home on Wednesday 4-8 pm.
