John Kelleher

John J . Kelleher , 70, of North Reading formerly of Lynnfield died Monday, June 21 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Born October 1, 1939 he was the son of the late John D. and Mary (Burns) Kelleher .

John was raised in Chelsea and was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School of Revere and later of Boston College. He was formerly of Lynnfield and had been a North Reading resident since 1995. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed travel particularly to County Cork and County Galway in Ireland.

John was the beloved father of Jay W. Kelleher and his wife Therese of Swampscott, Lisa DeGeorge and her husband Dwight and Jacqueline Kelleher Boyle and her husband Chris all of Lynnfield. He was the loving grandfather of D.J., Zoe, Cameron, Mia, Lisa and Samantha DeGeorge, Madeleine, Anna and Maxine Boyle and Linnea Kelleher . He was the brother of Eileen Sirois of North Reading. He is also survived by his former wife Amy (Iwanicki) Kelleher .

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Friday at 10am followed by a funeral mass in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, 75 Union Park St., Boston at 11:00am. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday 4-8pm. Interment will be at Holy Hood Cemetery, Brookline.
