John McLaughlin, Sr.

John McLaughlin, Sr.

John J . McLaughlin , Sr . of West Peabody died Monday, May 30 at the Salem Hospital.

Mr. McLaughlin was born in Somerville and was the son of the late William and Bridgett McLaughlin .

Mr. McLaughlin was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. He had worked as an accountant and had been a retired business owner since 1983. He was a member of the Elks and VFW. Mr. McLaughlin was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and had served in both the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve and later in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. McLaughlin was the husband of Alyce A. (Barresy) McLaughlin . He was the father of John J . McLaughlin , Jr. and his wife Anne of Lynnfield and Kathy Garbick of North Andover. He was the brother of the late Francis and James McLaughlin , Kay McDonald, and Mary Champagne.

A funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 am followed by a funeral mass in the Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10 oa'(TM)clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 pm. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
