John Keon, Jr.

John E. "Jay" Keon , Jr ., 49, of Dorchester died Saturday, January 18 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.

Born in Medford on May 31, 1964 he was the son of John E. and Claire T. (Savage) Keon of Wakefield.

John was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of North East Regional Vocational School and late attended the School of Fashion Design in Boston. He was a member of the Dorchester Gala and had worked in the clothing and design industry.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by his siblings Brian Keon and his wife Debbie of Vermont, Dennis Keon and his wife Julie of New Hampshire, Sean Keon and his wife Pam of Connecticut and Meaghan Johnson and her husband David of Arkansas. John was the partner of Chanh Tran of Dorchester. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews: Ashley, Thomas, Rachel, Sierra, Michelle, Robin, Dylan and Jack.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. in Wakefield on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 11:00 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 – 7 P.M.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Jay's memory may be made to Fenway Health, Development Dept. ANSIN Bldg. 1340 Boylston St. Boston, MA 02215 or to the AIDS Action committee of Massachusetts, Inc. 75 Armory St. Boston, MA 02119.
