John McGowan

John G. McGowan, 88, of Lynnfield, died on Thursday, December 2 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Cambridge on May 9, 1922 he was the son of the late John and Sarah (Fitzgerald) McGowan.

Mr. McGowan was raised in Cambridge and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He had worked as a machinist before his retirement.

Mr. McGowan was the beloved husband of Clara M. (Cinquino) McGowan. He was the brother of James McGowan of FL, Leo McGowan of Wareham, Loretta Herman of Medford and the late Robert and Ruth McGowan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Grove & Salem Sts., Lynnfield at 10 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
