John Messina, Jr.

John Messina Jr., 86, of Saugus died on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at his residence.

John was born in Wakefield on August 13, 1931 and was the son of the late John Giovanni Messina and Gina (Pica) Messina.

John was raised in Wakefield and had worked and retired from the New England Telephone Company. He had also worked in the printing industry. John was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the U.S. Army from 1949-1951.

John was the beloved husband of the late Carol A. (Eramo) Messina. He was the loving father of Nancy Prentiss and her husband Todd of Andover, Jeanne M. Enos and her husband Glen of Woburn, Julie A. Bordan and her husband Clay of FL., and the late Karen Messina. He was the brother of Ronald Messina and his wife Rita of Wakefield and the late Lena Ciro and her husband Peter. He was the grandfather of Jamie A. Kimball and her husband Peter, Ashley Hurdle, and the late Cheryl McManamin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St. Stoneham on Tuesday, at 12 pm. Visitations for relatives and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 10am. Interment will be held in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
