John A. Molloy, 82, of Brookline and formerly Winthrop died at the Genesis of Wakefield Center on Sunday March 17th.
Born in Cambridge on November 27, 1925, he was the son of the late John A. and Florence (Campbell) Molloy.
A decorated U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II, Mr. Molloy was the recipient of the Navy Flying Cross issued to him by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt, as well as many other citations. Mr. Molloy had retired from the U.S. Department of Defense in Boston.
Mr. Molloy was the brother of Robert P. Molloy of Denver, CO, Joseph F. Molloy of Lynnfield, Francis J. Molloy of Chatsworth, CA and Barbara M. Daly of Sun City, FL. He was predeceased by his siblings Rita Brown, Ann Lombardi, Ruth Harris, George P. Molloy and Richard Molloy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave Wakefield on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery 990 LaGrange St. West Roxbury Friday at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.
