John Moses

John G. Moses of Wakefield died on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Sawtelle Hospice House after a courageous battle with Thymic Carcinoma.

Born in Malden on October 20, 1952 he was the son of the late Nicholas C. and Sandra (Puriello) Moses.

John was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He was a longtime painter in the local area and talented cook where he was a former chef at Wakefield's Restaurant. John was a friend to all that knew him and was devoted to his late mother Sandra.

John was the father of John Moses of Reading. He was the brother of Robert Moses and wife Linda of Wakefield. He was the uncle of Meaghann and Nicholas of Wakefield. He was the longtime companion of Nancy Dyment of Reading. John was also the "Grandfriend" of Samantha, Jackson, Will, and Drew Dyment.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 10:30am. In accordance with John's wishes, graveside services were private and calling hours were omitted.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name may be made to VNA of Middlesex-East and Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880 or American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
