John J. Musto Jr., a resident of Stoneham since 1962 died Friday July 7 at the Woburn Nursing Center at the age of 94.
Born in Boston August 25, 1928 he was the son of the late John J. and Anna (Aquaviva) Musto .
John was raised in East Boston before moving to Medford where he graduated Medford High School class of 1947. A Musician by trade, he traveled with a music group before enlisting in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge from the Army he reunited with the band, and also began a career as a Tile Setter. John was a devoted husband and father. He moved to Stoneham in 1962 where they raised their family. He loved his music, his homemade Pizza, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
John was the beloved husband of 50 years to the late Carol A. (Casoli) Musto. He was the loving father of Lorrie Wheeler and her husband Austin of Melrose, and Michael Musto of Manchester, NH. He was the brother of Patrick Musto, and the late Sebastian A. Musto, and Gilda Cocco. He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren Austin T. Wheeler Jr., and Grace V. Musto.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday July 13, at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St,. Stoneham on Wednesday July 12, from 5-7 p.m. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
