John Quigley

John E. Quigley, 92, of Wakefield, formerly of Melrose, died on Thursday May 19 at his home.

Born in Somerville on August 20, 1919 he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Elizabeth V. (McLaughlin) Quigley.

Mr. Quigley was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1936, Bentley College, 1946 and Northeastern University, 1951. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Quigley retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an Investigator for the Industrial Accident Board. He was also a member of St. Florence parish in Wakefield.

Mr. Quigley was the husband of Marjorie J. (Sherman). He was the father of Michael K. Quigley of FL, Stephen R. Quigley and his wife Shirley of NH, Barbara A. Johanson and her husband John of Wakefield, M. Susan Clark and her husband Maurice of VT, Donna M. Duval of ME and the late Karen M. Quigley. He was the brother of Christopher P. Quigley of Lowell, Elizabeth V. Blais of Saugus, Patricia Ruble of Woburn and the late Robert and Mary Quigley and Jane Connolly. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 11 a.m. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield prior to the mass starting at 9 a.m. Interment will be at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
