John J. Raffael, III, 60, of Middleton and formerly Wakefield, died at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington on Saturday March 5.
Born in Wakefield on November 29, 1950 he was the son of Lillian (Capone) Raffael of Wakefield and the late John J. Raffael, Jr.
Mr. Raffael was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School class of 1968. John had also graduated from the University of New Hampshire and had had received his Masters Degree in Business Administation from Suffolk University. He had worked as a Consultant in the field of Human Resources. A man devoted to his family and friends, John was proud of his Italian heritage. Mr. Raffael was well known for his involvement in many charitable endeavors.
In addition to his mother Lillian "Lil" Raffael, John is survived by his brother Robert Raffael of Gloucester, and his sisters Lisa J. Raffael of Burlington, VT and Cheryl A. Butt of Middleton. He was the uncle of Kristen TenBorek, Brendan Butt, Benjamin Gold and the late Michael Butt. He is also survived by his aunt and godmother Virginia A. Hopkins of Wakefield.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave Wakefield on Thursday at 9 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Middleton.
