John B. Rubner III of Wakefield, formerly of Stoneham, died on Thursday, January 27 from complications due to Covid-19.
Born in Stoneham on August 1, 1950, he was the son of John B. Jr., and Phyllis (Redmond) Rubner of Plaistow, New Hampshire.
John was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1968 and had attended Bryant & Stratton College. He served in the United States Air Force with the rank of Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He had been a Wakefield resident for the past 35 years. John worked for over 40 years as a dedicated postal processing clerk for the United States Postal Service in South Boston. John was a kindhearted, caring person. He had a passion for all genres of music and enjoyed going to record stores and live music venues.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by his five siblings; Michael Rubner and his wife Barbara of Winthrop, Maine, Cathy Hoctor and her husband Tom of Stoneham, Steven Rubner and his wife Chris of Concord, Linda Kelly and her husband Bud of Intervale, New Hampshire, and Brian Rubner and his wife Brooke of Goffstown, New Hampshire. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
