John Sheehan, Jr.

John J. Sheehan, Jr., 87, of Lynnfield died on Wednesday, April 10 at the Union Hospital in Lynn.

Born in Boston on January 12, 1926 he was the son of the late John J. and Yvonne (Berard) Sheehan.

Mr. Sheehan had been a Lynnfield resident since 1967. He was a graduate of Boston High School of Commerce and Boston University. Mr. Sheehan was a retired control branch manager for GMAC in Boston. He was a World War II Army Veteran.

Mr. Sheehan was the husband of the late Vilda (Santilli). He is survived by his two sons; John J. Sheehan, III and his wife Lucy of North Andover and David P. Sheehan and his partner Keith Garton of New York, his sister Yvonne Sheehan of Dorchester and his two granddaughters; Kathryn and Elizabeth Sheehan both of Somerville. Mr. Sheehan was predeceased by his brother Leo Zschau.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, corner of Salem & Grove Sts., Lynnfield at 10:30am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7pm. Interment will be at Willow Cemetery in Lynnfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Charities of Boston, 51 Sleeper St., Boston, MA 02210.
