John Tecce

John D. Tecce, 76, a life long resident of Wakefield died on Monday, September 20 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Wakefield on July 10, 1934 he was the son of the late Louis and Celia (Gravellise) Tecce.

Mr. Tecce was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1953 and Northeastern University. During the Korean Conflict he served in the U.S. Marines. He was a Detective for the Wakefield Police Department and retired in 1987.

Mr. Tecce was the husband of Dorothy "Dotty" (Molino) Tecce. He was the father of Donna M. Tecce and her wife Kaye Altieri of Wakefield, Cheryl A. Jankowski and her husband John of New Ipswich, NH, John D. Tecce Jr. and his wife Heather of Tewksbury, and James P. Tecce of Wakefield. He was the brother of Mary O'Keefe of Wakefield, Dorothy Roulston of Syracuse, NY, Phyllis Ross of Ocala, FL, and the late Michael, Louis, Joseph, and Gus Tecce, Lena Shea, and Esther Schiavone. He was the grandfather of Tracy, Kimberly and Mia Tecce.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 11 o'clock. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
