John Morrell

John W.F. Morrell , 82 of Wakefield died on Friday. April 23 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Somerville on September 30, 1927 he was the son of the late William and Gladys (Martin) Morrell .

Mr. Morrell was a long time Wakefield Resident. He was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1945 and Boston State College, Class of 1978. Mr. Morrell was a retired Placement Counselor at the Waltham Vocational High School. He was a member of the Wakefield Elks, St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield and a former member of the Palmer's Cove Yacht Club in Salem, MA.

Mr. Morrell was the husband of the late Frances (Surette) Morrell . He is survived by his four sons; John Morrell and his wife Edythe of Tewksbury, Paul Morrell and his wife Christine of Haverhill, Peter Morrell of Billerica, David Morrell and his wife Jennifer of Wakefield, his daughter Nancy Holden and her husband Craig of Billerica, his brother William Johnson of Woburn, his sister Eleanor DePerry of Raymond, NH and his sister in law Emily Surette of Wakefield. Mr. Morrell is also survived by 8 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Morrell .

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Friday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472
