Joseph Santora

Joseph Santora , 91, of Wakefield formerly of Stoneham and Medford, died on Wednesday, February 1 at his residence.

Born in East Boston on April 17, 1920, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Mambo) Santora .

Mr. Santora had been a Wakefield resident for the past 9 years. He was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1938 and had attended classes at M.I.T. Mr. Santora was a retired supervisor for the M.W. Carr Company in Somerville and had also worked at Comfort Pillow in Somerville. He was a musician for many years and had played guitar in a band called "Notes of Rhythm"

Mr. Santora is survived by his wife Grace M. (Massa) Santora , his son Steven G. Santora and his wife Elizabeth of Worchester and Jeanne Higgins and her husband William of Wakefield. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his three sisters; Phyllis Votta, Florence Vertullo and Mary Santora and his brother Arthur Santora .

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8pm. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
