Joseph C . Quigley , 91, a long time resident of Wakefield died Thursday, March 22 at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott, MA.

Born in Somerville on September 21, 1920 he was the son of the late Charles F. and Edith (Hartley) Quigley .

Joseph was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville Trade School class of 1938. He is also a graduate of Port Arthur College in Texas for Radio Operators. He served during WWII with the U.S Army as a radio operator. He was retired from the Boston & Main Rail Road as a clerk and later for APM Componenents, Inc of Wakefield.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife Claire M. (Murphy). He was the father of Paul J. Quigley of Lynn, Kathy Shay of Tewksbury, Alan Quigley of NM, David Quigley of Wakefield and Nancy Ficarra of Billerica. He was the brother of Irene De Simone of Malden, and the late Margaret Copithorne , Marie Trott , Charles Quigley and Dorothy Ganem. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Monday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church Wakefield at 10:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Sunday 1-4 pm. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
