J. Paul Frotten, 86, of Wakefield died on Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
Born in Nova Scotia Canada on April 5, 1925, he was the son of the late Damien and Sophie (Muise) Frotten.
Mr. Frotten attended the Quinan, Nova Scotia School System. He moved to the United States in 1961, and his wife and 5 children followed 2 years later. After immigrating to the United States he worked as a welder for Boston Steel & Manufacturing for 26 years. Known by friends and family for his warm smile and his propensity to help others, he was an active member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield. Along with his membership at St. Joseph he spent numerous hours volunteering for St. Vincent DePaul and at area soup kitchens. Following his retirement from Boston Steel, he delivered Meals on Wheels for the Mystic Valley Elder Services for 7 years.
Mr. Frotten was the husband of the late Marceline A. Frotten. He was the father of 5 children, Robert P. Frotten and his wife Anne of Easton, Lawrence D. Frotten and his wife Andrea of New Jersey, Bernadette M. Lyle and her husband Kenneth of Wakefield, Jeanne L. Hodson and her husband Laurence of North Reading and Ronald A. Frotten and his wife Jeanette of Methuen. He was the sister of Emily Boudreau of Nova Scotia and the grandfather of Kristina, Yvette, Kerri, Shawn, Crystal, Gregory, Hakeem and Natalie. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Frotten was predeceased by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, April 10th at 9 am, followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 9th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Vincent De Paul Society, St Joseph's Church, Wakefield, Masachusetts.
